Miss Universe Paulina Vega – March 2015 issue of Shine On Hollywood Magazine

Dear readers,

Welcome to the March 2015 issue of Shine On Hollywood Magazine (SOHM)! The warmth of the new season is greeted with excitement and anticipation as we set our clocks forward and the beautiful people of Hollywood dash off to fashion shows and hit the gym in preparation for wearing all the fabulous new fashions for Spring. From Malibu to Laguna Beach, stunning bodies will again grace our beaches and backyards will become alive again with parties around the sparkling pools. Hollywood is indeed a land onto its own, a magnet for the talented and beautiful. This month we feel fortunate in having gotten the “cream of the crop” as we feature our line-up of “ “Top Women Industry Professionals!”

Miss Universe - Paulina Vega

These individuals entertain, inspire and enhance the condition of our lives and we are proud to now include them in our SOHM family.

This month’s cover story features the newly crowned Miss Universe, Paulina Vega. Her passion and dedication to living life with meaning and purpose along with her inner and obviously outer beauty makes it easy to understand why the judges were captivated by her. We learn about her past, her motivations and her plans for her year-long reign.

This month’s issue also features the multi-talented, Victoria Redstall. We learn how a childhood tragedy shaped her and how she turned this into a platform for helping others. She talks about her past work and catches us up on her latest projects. This issue also features Patricia Chica. She escaped her war-torn native country and through hard work and dedication became a prolific and award winning director and producer. A story sure to inspire as she discusses her emotionally moving journey and exciting future.

Finally, we are proud to feature Margie Balter. She began her entertainment career at an early age, having come from a family of Academy Award nominees. Excelling as a pianist, she has become a much sought-after piano instructor and her interview is both inspirational and informative.

We encourage you to “Let them be your motivation.”

SOHM remains a politics and gossip free publication with its focus on, Real People, Real Stories, from the Arts and Pop Culture Community who make a difference by giving back, and we are delighted to share their heart-felt stories with you. We will continue to provide the industry’s foremost creative meeting place with monthly showcases, news, opinions, analysis, and audience feedback.

The upcoming April issue will feature an emphasis on “Top Film Industry Professionals” and tribute to Arlene Martel. Look for exclusive interviews with leading industry professionals. We hope you enjoy this issue and look forward to your feedback and continued support!

Shine On Hollywood Magazine

Melena Rounis

Dear Readers:

Welcome to the January-February issue of Shine On Hollywood Magazine (SOHM)! As a new year comes to fruition, we here at Shine On Hollywood Magazine are excited about 2015. With the Golden Globes, Grammy and The Writer Guild Awards already behind us and The Oscars Awards just around the corner, there is more great work coming out of Hollywood and around the globe than ever before.

The level of quality work in all aspects of entertainment, film, TV, video, music, dance, art and fashion has all been raised over the last year. The business side of things is rapidly changing with the availability of on-demand shows and events available to anyone with an internet connection in most of the world. The Hollywood experience used to be available only to those who could get to a theater, go to a concert or buy a record. Those days are over and the volume of entertainment has made creating and mounting productions very competitive these days. We, as the consumers of these productions, are the winners as we get to enjoy more and better events and shows.

This month, we focus our attention on the world of dance. Sometimes, when watching a show or concert, we don’t always realize how hard the dancers are working to bring us a great show. They often don’t get the recognition that is so well deserved. This is our chance to recognize just a few of the successful dancers and choreographers working in entertainment today. Their stories will amaze and inspire you.

Our cover story features Allen Walls. Dancing since the 80’s, Walls took a very unconventional path to be the success he is today. He also understands how dancers are not recognized in the business and has done his part to create an event to do just that with the World Dance Awards. See how he started and made his way onto the big screen as well as into your homes on TV.

We also are highlighting a Russian import, Ekaterina Fedosova. This diminutive person should not be dismissed because of her size. She is a powerhouse on the dance floor and has proved it again and again through competitions through the dancing world around the globe. With a dream in her heart, read how she made her way to the U. S. and ultimately, to Hollywood where she is making a name for herself.

A dancer and now, choreographer, who is very busy is Melena Rounis. Starting out in the classics of ballet and jazz, Rounis is one to be reckoned with in the hip-hop world. She works constantly and it was not easy to pin her down for an interview, but we did and her story is inspiring.

Finally, we follow the career and life of dancer, choreographer and director, Cheryl Baxter-Ratliff. With a dance teacher mom, she was destined to be very successful in entertainment, as she is. Working alongside some of the greatest performers of our time, Cheryl has a resume most dancers would give their favorite dancing shoes for. Read about how she transitioned from a well-rounded dancer knowing just about all the different styles to include singing on her resume and even performing for the President.

The upcoming March issue we are honoring Women’s History Month by featuring successful women professionals. Look for exclusive interviews with leading industry professionals. We hope you enjoy this issue and look forward to your feedback and continued support!

Enjoy,

Shine On Hollywood Magazine

Welcome to the December 2014 issue of Shine On Hollywood Magazine (SOHM)! As we attend the dazzling holiday parties and dinners here in Tinseltown, I want to pause and give thanks to all the good fortune we have here. From time to time, I am stopped on the street by a passerby who recognizes me from SOHM. They often tell me how much they enjoy the articles and how they appreciate the uplifting stories we share from Hollywood which avoids all the gossip and politics. These interactions, in turn, uplift me and makes me so grateful for all our loyal fan base so, from the bottom of my heart, THANK-YOU! I also feel so fortunate for the inspirational individuals whose stories we are able to share and this issue is no exception as we feature “Top Male Entertainment Professionals!” http://shineonhollywoodmagazine.com/shinenovdec2014/web/flipviewerxpress.html

This month’s cover story features the world renowned artist and humanitarian, Cao Yong, a man who truly paints from his heart. It has been said that to view one of his paintings is like getting lost in a beautiful and magical place. His life journey is remarkable and his paintings can’t help but to inspire you. His new work, “Peace” with a world-wide premier in China next month, embodies Cao’s desire to shine a light on the damage we are doing to our world and what we need to do to correct it.

This month’s issue also features orthopedic surgeon, humanitarian and blues musician, Dr. Dan Ivankovich. He is a true renaissance man who has chosen to use his intellect and talent for the betterment of his fellow man. You won’t want to miss out on reading about his fascinating work.

This issue also features Kenny Santiago Marrero, who is known by industry insiders for his versatile acting ability. We learn how education and determination made the difference for him in reaching his goals and dreams. Finally, we are proud to feature successful entrepreneur, musician and celebrated winemaker, David Hunt. This man of many talents actually achieved many of his goals after losing his sight. His story is like no other.

We encourage them to “Let them be your motivation.”

The upcoming January 2015 issue will feature “Top Dance Industry Professionals.” Look for exclusive interviews with notable leaders in this industry. We hope you enjoy this issue and look forward to your feedback and continued support!

Wishing you the happiest of holidays and joyous New Year!

Lafayette Street Records

Lafayette Street Records

Lafayette Street Records

Originated in 2014, Lafayette Street Records is the brainchild of Cortney Callanan, former label manager of Star69 Records, and partner Igor “Iggy” Kisil, the Billboard-charting creative genius known as Sweet Rains (and of Sweet Rains Records.) Together, they hand-picked key individuals from their networks of industry powerhouses and selected an accolade-heavy all-star team, which includes former execs from: Subliminal Records; Ultra Records; Sony Music; and award-winning independent publicity and marketing companies.

LFS Records is based on the essence of real dance music and a marketing machine feeding it to those who hunger and thirst for it. The LFS Records team is comprised of executives who ran this town during dance music’s peak, and fresh minds longing for this sound. “Our team is made up of people who were influential when that big room vocal-house sound was infectious, commandeering dance floors all over the world,” says Callanan. “Our common goal is to reinstate the house music that once was and have it regain its rightful place: topping charts and initiating a new generation to the power of lyrics and melodies.” Says Kisil, “We’re bringing innovative records with a nostalgic feel.”

The resulting company, Lafayette Street Records, is an exciting and colorfully-explosive musical powerhouse that pays homage to where Callanan got her start in SoHo – Star 69 Records, at 199 Lafayette Street. This is the reincarnation of dance music; big room sound, “hands-in-the-air,” larger-than-life vocals that everyone knows the words to. Feel good crowd-chanting dance music at its finest.
