One Patient

One Patient

One Patient: where institutional corruption dictates how health care is allocated – leaving many with care likened to that of a third world country…if any.

20130417144921-onepatient3

A film by Libby Spears

A small team, without federal, state or county assistance has embarked upon a personal mission…to provide access to healthcare, regardless of ability to pay, without discrimination.

We hope that this film will provide a greater insight into the governmental and institutional corruption that dictates how healthcare is allocated – leaving many with care likened to that of a third world country…if any. This film seeks to call into question the inconsistencies in healthcare as it relates to those most at risk, the poor and un/underinsured.

Help make it happen for the team! Contribute to One Patient:   http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/one-patient?c=home

Today in America, the face of poverty has changed. No longer is it the homeless man under the L or the toothless woman on the corner who pleads with her eyes…and her cup. As America grapples with devastating economic times, the harsh reality is that the face of poverty is now sitting to your left, to your right, and possibly even in your very own home. Illness and injury know no socioeconomic status and no one is immune – the rich, the poor, the middle-class. Let us introduce a world where lives are changed despite the decline of governmental programs. Together we hope to challenge the stereotypical beliefs about those in need, and find sustainable ways to address healthcare in a failing economy.

While you had the opportunity to meet Mike Williams in the trailer, you will meet many more patients from vastly different backgrounds who share one common theme, all of them were denied access to or let down by our health care system and they were so close to simply giving up. You will walk along side us as you meet each patient – documenting who they are, where they come from and why the quest to maintain health and wellness has been a struggle.  You will witness their commitment, their raw emotion, their accountability, their challenges and their successes.

What do you do when you are forced to choose between rent and food, between bus fare and medicine? How do you secure a future for yourself and your family when the pain you feel renders you completely disabled…or addicted? It is widely understood that in the United States of America, despite the promise of Obama Care, healthcare is not and will not be afforded to all Americans equally.

Watch as we follow Dr. Dan and Karla trekking to the Middle East where taking care of patients in refugee camps in Lebanon serves to fulfill the mission of serving those less fortunate yet remains as a means to keep their clinics open in the United States. See the irony when conditions in these camps and devastated countries are still superior to those found within the “safety net” health care system in the disparate areas of Chicago…where healthcare is often likened to a third world country.

Most critically however, the team hopes to leave a footprint, so that together we can build a foundation for future generations as we change the world…OnePatient at a time.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

If you aren’t able to contribute financially, you can still help!

SHARE the project with your friends and family. SPREAD the word on social media sites.

WHERE THE $ IS GOING

We already have 25% of our filming done and now we need $100,000 enabling us to continue to edit the footage we have already shot, and to continue filming. Your money will go toward production, editing, and appeals for the additional funds to complete the project. We will keep you posted on our progress every step of the way, including field reports from Lebanon in late June when our film crew will travel to the Middle East to film Dr. Dan working with the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) to bring his medical expertise to the needs of the children living in refugee camps. Without these funds, we will NOT be able to make this trip happen!

WISH LIST: If we raise more than $100,000 we can make the film even better. More money means more time in the field and in the edit room, giving us greater production quality.

JDVisionquest3000

JDVisionquest3000 is a music producer, recording artist, and songwriter interested in the future of music, music production, and working with talented artists and performers. JD has many music credits in film and t.v., and has worked with independent and signed artists since 2008. Also since 2008 JD has worked with Ohio hip hop artist Nate Sylak, who he signed to a production deal. Starting in 2012, JD will be launching the 3000 Music imprint, for which Sylak will be the flagship artist.
“As a music producer in the modern age my main duties include providing the artist with songs/beats that move and motivate them to perform to their greatest ability. Once the song is written my job is to make sure it is recorded with all the latest technology, so the song can sonically keep up with the never ending trends that have become common in today’s music production. After the song is recorded, my job is to make sure the mixing, arranging, and mastering is done properly so what the listener hears is a professional sound. At times my role as producer also includes the packaging and promotion of the artist. This can include photo shoots, artwork, design and coordinating the physical release of the final product. Sometimes my duties will extend to promoting the release in the media/press to drive sales. The end result is a song that has the largest number of possibilities including digital sales and downloads, placement in film/t.v. and other forms of licensing such as web, commercial and compilations.”–JDVQ3000

Sydal

Sydal

In a time and place where beef and turf politics surround rap music, Sydal has been labeled a breath of fresh air by fans and artists alike. This is because Sydal, who came into the game making dis records about anybody he wasn’t feeling, did a complete 180 and refuses to take part in a practice that has forever held his city down in the industry. “Rap music used to thrive on beef, but the tables have turned. Fans want to hear good MUSIC, positive solutions and be entertained…not caught up in an issue that doesn’t concern them”. Sydal lives in a city that has been going through a constant power struggle, where everybody wants to be labeled the “king” of the city, and collaborations are few and far between. This same problem keeps his hometown of San Jose out of the spotlight. .. ..Sydal started freestyling at the age of 11, and started writing and recording songs at the age of 14. From there, he would duplicate mixtapes in his bedroom and pass them out on a daily basis…to whoever would take one from him. It wasn’t until 2001, at the age of 19, that he financed and recorded his first LP, “Game Theory” and started getting his name out beyond his region. He caught the attention of many people throughout Northern California, and from there he grew his own fanbase from San Jose to Europe and Japan. After falling out with every artist he worked with, all he did was record dis record after dis record, and eventually decided to take a break from music altogether… ..Eventually, Sydal stepped back into the studio and decided to do everything himself. From writing, to beats, to full production (Pre-Mastering). By his side are cats like Young D, JC and Trenceda, whom he has been working closely with for quite some time now. Because of that, you can expect a few new albums very soon. This includes a Sydal solo, a Sydal & JC collaboration project, and some work from the StreetSav camp and Young D. Sydal has been from studio to studio, writing and recording non-stop for himself and for others. He is set to feature on numerous upcoming projects, and expand into other areas of entertainment as well… ..On top of all the recording, Sydal can be found performing in venues such as The Improv in San Jose, The Britannia Arms in Cupertino, and various other places. If you’d like to see him in your area, hit him up and it will happen. We’ll see what the world holds for this man, who is bent on creating good music for good people. “I don’t want to make records that will get me killed, I want to make records that will get me HEARD! I’m here to touch people, and to make real music with some real talented people”. I’m sure the world will be surprised when they hear what Sydal is bringing to the table. Sydal will be one of the best in the industry very soon…

I was born in 1976 in Reutlingen, Germany…played Bass in a small youth band at age 14…
When i was 17 i wanted to be a guitar player but ther were tooooo much of them…i founded a new band with friends and I turned from guitar to the Bass…was fun.. Took lessons…and later i GAVE lessons
Had a lot of Bands then…World Demise, we covered famous Metal and Rocksongs..wrote own stuff too and were popolar in the city among the youth, played at a big open Air, too..then Silence of Misery..had a few Gigs in our city.

MY first real Band with very good musicians was BLUE POWDER…a Progressive Rockband..during that time i learned so much…it was in 1996 – 1998 then the band split up and i joined a Rockband called BROKEN WINGS.
We had alot of live gigs…played at the Emergenza Live Festival Competition and made the 10th Place out of A LOT OF Bands. We played for example in the Rockfabrik Ludwigsburg or the LKA in Stuttgart-Wangen, had a Date at a Radio station too between some gigs.

It was a nice time but i wanted to be more creative , wanted it a little bit harder so i joined NOPLIES in 1999…and stayed there until 2003…we recorded 2 CD..s : 1999 FOLLOW THE RAINBOW which got a very good feedback in the MEtal HAmmer Demo Zone in 2000, and 2002 PIRATE TALES which was another Great Album too! Also here very good feedback from rthe STAY HEAVY! MEtal Magazine and others

Played a lot of live gigs and won the BATTLE OF BANDS 2000 Competition…this was my best time as a musician. I left NOPLIES in 2003..
I needed something new, joined CHYRON with my buddy and former Blue Powder singer Jürgen Elsell and recorded a Demo CD called “SIGNS” We had only one Live Gig, an Open Air, nothing spectacular.
In 2004-2005 i was part of a studio Project with Guitarist Massimo Lia and Singer Jürgen Elsell who was also my mate in BLUE POWDER and CHYRON. We recorded some Songs but it split up after a few time…
After 5 years of retiring from the music scene i planned to do my own Homerecording Solo Project ! I had so much ideas during the last yearsso I built my own little Homerecording Homestudio and wrote songs, recorded them with my Singer Denis Hübner…I do the whole music stuff alone..play the bass, the guitars…write lyrics and do some background vocals if needed…program the Drums and Synthesizers..
the old passion for making music is BACK! ;)

Thank you for listening to my songs and videos!

EN ESPANOL

MANNY SOUNDZ

You, the Music Man, Bye Bye Birdie, and the Skin of Our Teeth
