In a time and place where beef and turf politics surround rap music, Sydal has been labeled a breath of fresh air by fans and artists alike. This is because Sydal, who came into the game making dis records about anybody he wasn’t feeling, did a complete 180 and refuses to take part in a practice that has forever held his city down in the industry. “Rap music used to thrive on beef, but the tables have turned. Fans want to hear good MUSIC, positive solutions and be entertained…not caught up in an issue that doesn’t concern them”. Sydal lives in a city that has been going through a constant power struggle, where everybody wants to be labeled the “king” of the city, and collaborations are few and far between. This same problem keeps his hometown of San Jose out of the spotlight. .. ..Sydal started freestyling at the age of 11, and started writing and recording songs at the age of 14. From there, he would duplicate mixtapes in his bedroom and pass them out on a daily basis…to whoever would take one from him. It wasn’t until 2001, at the age of 19, that he financed and recorded his first LP, “Game Theory” and started getting his name out beyond his region. He caught the attention of many people throughout Northern California, and from there he grew his own fanbase from San Jose to Europe and Japan. After falling out with every artist he worked with, all he did was record dis record after dis record, and eventually decided to take a break from music altogether… ..Eventually, Sydal stepped back into the studio and decided to do everything himself. From writing, to beats, to full production (Pre-Mastering). By his side are cats like Young D, JC and Trenceda, whom he has been working closely with for quite some time now. Because of that, you can expect a few new albums very soon. This includes a Sydal solo, a Sydal & JC collaboration project, and some work from the StreetSav camp and Young D. Sydal has been from studio to studio, writing and recording non-stop for himself and for others. He is set to feature on numerous upcoming projects, and expand into other areas of entertainment as well… ..On top of all the recording, Sydal can be found performing in venues such as The Improv in San Jose, The Britannia Arms in Cupertino, and various other places. Hailing from Tunisia, the northernmost country in Africa, emcee Ali Baba is well on his way to staking his claim in hip-hop and making his mark in the US, and the world to follow. His real name is Ali Abbou, he moved to the states at the age of 12 where his friends and family first called him Ali Baba after the main character in the famous Arabic story of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. The nickname stuck since then to present day being his emcee moniker. When he first moved to the US it was so he could attend the Palmer Tennis Academy in Tampa, Florida, one of the best tennis academies in the world. Once graduated from the Palmer Academy, he moved to California to attend college. As he got older, his affinity for hip-hop music grew from the rawness and realness he heard in it. It resembled the struggles that his people continue to go through to this day. Those struggles have culminated in the Tunisian revolution that is being fought by his people today. The demonstrations in his home country were precipitated by poor living conditions, high unemployment, inflation, political corruption, lack of freedom of speech and other political freedoms–all reasons that inspire hip-hop lyrics, and inspire Ali to express his point of view. He feels he can deliver a great message to the world through his music, and be able to touch people’s hearts and minds. Ali’s music is a relief for the negative in the world and a positive expression for people to hear. The ability to express his opinions and feelings is one of the main reasons why Ali first got into making music in the first place. After listening to legends such as 2Pac, Eminem, and Lil’ Wayne, a greater energy was created inside of Ali to motivate him to write more and more. The band Aimaora was formed in April of 2008 with Bryan King at the helm on guitar. Shane Davidson on bass was found in September of 2008, Jarrod Ridge came in on drums in October of 2009, and through much searching Mike Castanza on vocals appeared in April of 2010. Later that next year with much consideration the band decided to go another route and by letting Mike go and moving Shane up from Bass Guitar to Vocals Aimaora found their new sound. The goal of Aimaora from the beginning was to be the heaviest and most powerful band in the 209 scene. With the band gigging since January of 2008, and having to take a hiatus do to line up changes, they are back in the scene now and with the talent and focus of this band, they are not setting the bar short by any means. With having their demo out only 4 weeks, they found themselves quickly on several radio stations such as 96.7 FM The Rock, and 92.5 FM The Bear; as well as Mad Man Mikes Internet Radio Station out of New York, as well as a feature on Headbangers Ball Radio. Never limiting themselves to stylistic labels, Aimaora pulls from many different inspirations. The band draws from music styles like Metal, Thrash, Groove Metal, Jazz, Funk, Hardcore, Metalcore, punk, ska as well as Deathmetal, and Tech Metal to name a few. With Aimaora the skys is the limit.
