Clarissa writes songs from her life experiences. This comes naturally and performing her songs is her most fulfilling self expression. Writing simple songs about complex things such as love, family, and life in general– issues that most people relate to in a form of a pop/dance/rock tune or a ballad is her own way of channeling her dynamic energy constructively. Though she exclusively performs dance pop numbers, she is also currently writing a few R&B, hiphop, and country genres. Take a listen to her songs–you can’t help singing along or just rock with it.
Clarissa has been singing since the tender age of 2. Her mother shares the story of when a next door neighbor overheard Clarissa the toddler singing the national anthem from start to finish!
Clarissa has electrifying energy that could propel a jet plane. It’s a fire that ignites and sparks her creative energy fueling her musical and dance repertoire. “Feel the passion” is her mantra. On stage is where she is most at home. The name Clarissa denotes a limitless, boundless, and fearless persona, resounding continued spiritual ‘renewal’ and of coming to terms. At any moment, Clarissa can become somewhat of a chameleon and dynamically re-invents herself.
Saint Lucian Reggae Artiste Semi has a new focus and is now singing for the conscious at heart with his new brand of Inspirational Reggae.
The onset of 2013 has seen some major changes in Semi’s musical journey and none more so than
the release of his sensational new single “Look What Love Can Do”. This song is a peach of a song and represents what the reggae greats meant reggae to sound like both musically and lyrically. “Look What Love Can Do” has begun to gather interest from various sector of the music industry including national radio and stations as far as Canada, the UK and Australia. Off The Charts Radio (UK) presenter Jay Adkins was so impressed with the song that he recommended it to his friends at Deuce Management & Promotion, a UK based company who has now signed on to represent the artist in a promotional capacity.
Following the success of the singles “Love Is the Key” and “Better Days” in 2012, and the subsequent release of the acclaimed album “Conscious Paradise”; Semi has been busy on the national circuit including a stunning performance at Waterfront Jazz in 2012 as part of the St. Lucia Jazz Festival.
Semi’s songs are infused with lovers rock and traditional reggae styles, which bring pure refreshment to the ears and freedom to the soul. As a gifted writer himself, Semi is guided by the words, power and sounds of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Steel Pulse and the vocal style of Jimmy Cliff, which when put together brings a taste of nothing less than pure Caribbean flavor. Semi is a visionary and believes that through participation we can remove obstacles to fulfilling our collective destiny. He is therefore an
artist who lives by what he sings and that love is at the heart of every song. Semi describes his music as inspirational reggae and that is what his music does to you. It lifts you up when you’re feeling down and motivates to set your feet on higher grounds.
In June 2010 he released “Love is the Key” the debut single off the album “Conscious Paradise” which topped the local charts peaking at number one. In October of the same year his second single “Better Days” off the same album was released. “Conscious Paradise” the album was produced by 22 year old Danyl Daniel of Daniel’s Den Studios of Gros Islet a supremely talented pianist and producer. This CD comprises eleven inspiring reggae songs delivered in Semi’s silky smooth vocal style – five of which were written by the artist. The album features an array of versatile and accomplished supporting artistes and musicians such as Linda “Chocolate” Berther”, Ronald “Boo” Hinkson, Barbara Cadet, Denzil Leon, Zack Popo and Nicky Pamphille. To date, with the release of Conscious Paradise, Semi has three albums to his name, including the previously released “Collections 1& 2” with executive producer Yves Lewis and a
string of hits including his chart topper “Put Yourself In My Place”.
In 2004, having spent time in the UK and the US, he returned home after recording and performing in Boston under the Wild Cubby music label. He set about purposing his music with conscious lyrics with an aim to stimulate positive thinking in all it gets in contact with. Since then Semi has performed alongside some of the best in the business including Sanchez, Gregory Isaacs, Culture, John Holt, Shaggy and Wyclef Jean.
Semi’s musical journey has taken him far and wide around the world. He gained national recognition with his band October 4 when he performed at the opening of the St. Lucia Jazz Festival in 2000. He’s acquired a wealth of experience as an artiste having worked the hotel, club and cruise ship circuits, which eventually in the early nineties led to international recognition as his migration along with the band Summit to the United Kingdom. Through the links of managers Pam and Paul Castle, the band Summit appeared on many high profile UK shows, one of them being the BBC’s Pebble Mill, and with the assistance of publisher David Most, the group signed a recording contract with RCA Records.
The more one discovers about Semi and his music, the more you begin to realize that behind that
endearing smile, is a human being, and an artiste who has a deep love for humanity, and that as a result of his music gift, lives will be touched.
GlacierDon is an up and coming Rap/Hip Hop artist hailing from Brooklyn, NY. He would describe his music as “Progressive Hip Hop that combines realistic stories with hypnotic beats and skilled lyricism.” He writes his own material as-well-as for others, produces some of his beats, and is able to freestyle “or come off the top.” GlacierDon managed to amalgamate the skills of the 90’s with the bouncy, club oriented music of today while maintaining his integrity and realness. He is not real because of where he comes from, but because of the way he has chosen to express himself.
Since 2008, GlacierDon has been gaining notoriety for his songs and freestyles on the internet. He has garnered the attention of many established DJs in the industry. He first appeared on DJ Voltron’s mixtape series entitled “ Witty Wordplay” alongside some underground heavyweights. Since then he has appeared on several mixtapes as he prepares to go viral with original material that promises to be thought-provoking and emotion driven.
Born in North Carolina, Antonio Coppage a.k.a. GlacierDon was raised by a variety of family members spread throughout Brooklyn, Queens, Connecticut, North Carolina, Washington, and Germany. Although he lived in so many different places, he considers Brooklyn home and North Carolina as his foundation. His mother died when he was only three years old which caused the instability and for him to grow up fast.
At a very young age it was noted that GlacierDon was very intelligent and beyond his years in wisdom. Because of that he was able to hang with older people and it is said that he has an old soul. This is reflected in his music as he has an insatiable taste for old soul/gospel samples. Living abroad at such an early age allows him to have a worldly view and perspective on things instead of the same old “I grew up in the hood telling you stories from my project window” saga that many of today’s rappers appears to be marred in. His music is indicative of a strong grasp on the English language, a healthy vocabulary, and an understanding of current events and history. At one point in time, Glacier was so bored down south that he read the entire volume of the New Standard Encyclopedia during the course of a summer. His friends use to call him “MC Scientist.”
Although he has had many brushes with the law, GlacierDon chooses to focus on the positive accomplishments in his life such as graduating high school, graduating college while at the same time working full time and facing federal charges, and his greatest accomplishment: receiving a Master’s degree and graduating in the top fourth of his class. His subject matter does cover the harsh realities but he goes out of his way to let his fans know that these things are to be avoided and not glorified. GlacierDon accepts social responsibility and wishes to push the envelope when it comes to subject matter in Hip Hop.
