Born and raised in Houston, Texas’ fifth ward, Imani Chyle is no stranger to the world of music. She was introduced to the scene in the mid to late 90’s as a hardcore female Rap-Duo forming the group 2Aggrivated, and she has performed and opened for many well-known artists. Imani Chyle discovered her love for singing and performing at the tender age of 5-years-old and survived on the streets as a young mother for most of her teenage years. Her name defines the persona, representing faith and the elements which complete her consciousness, healing, perseverance, and love for God.

Using music as a lifelong outlet, she honed her skills through endless writing and rap battles, under the name MC Bytch, eventually inking a deal with Profile Records. Her debut album, under the Rap-Duo was never released under Profile due to, management and label difficulty, but she never gave up. Using her fascinating life story and years of industry experience, Imani Chyle has defined herself and her voice and is on her way to becoming a new voice for today’s women; writing starkly real and inspiring music capable of evoking everything from pain to joy.

 

She ambitiously launched her own indie label, Mos Records as an outlet to release her recordings while retaining artistic integrity and control, which shines through in the bursting, appealing melodies running deep throughout her songs. Imani’s music Co-Produced by noted Atlanta producers, Monyea Crawford and Richard Rollie of LoveChild Productions, Tokyo Disco Kid, Mali Boi & So For Real Productions is innovative and fresh, and manages to straddle all sides of the Fusion spectrum at once–creating an ideal musical experience.

Influenced by everything from Marvin Gaye to Annie Lennox, U2 to UGK, Chyle devises songs with starkly relatable material; her Alto voice is piercing backed by skillful songwriting, emotional vocals, well-crafted beats, tight harmonies, and first-rate musicianship. With limitless potential, Chyle designs her songs with universal appeal, and attempts to reach everyone through creative, genre blurring writing.
Reinforced with a four piece band, dancers and background singers, her live act is known to light the stage on fire with performances at The House of Blues, The Legendary Roxy on Sunset, Utica NY Music Fest, Sweet Auburn Fest, Atlantis Music fest, Apache, The Atrium, Brick by Brick, and Whiskey a Go Go, among others. Imani Chyle is already generating a buzz and captivating diverse audiences, she was nominated at “The People’s Music Awards” (TPMA) 2011 for Best New female Solo artist/Trip-Hop Hip-hop RnB category in the UK, awarded several Platinum Auddy Awards on uPlaya.com and received high scores on Akon’s Hitlab.com, which is only awarded to songs with complete hit song potential. Imani is more than ready to take her career to the next level; and says her greatest desire is to consistently deliver high-energy performances, lyrics with substance, and cutting edge HipRock Soul music for her fans.
